Azurite was the blue for skies and vaults before ultramarine was affordable, and on a damp wall it turns green in patches.
These are pieces of starred ceiling in matte azurite enamel with gold leaf stars, some rubbed away on purpose. Padua has one of the most famous starred ceilings there is, and I walk past it most days.
